COMMUNITY ON CAMPUS
Northeastern University is privileged to have several student-run organizations, an LGBTQA faculty and staff affinity group, and an LGBTQA alumni affinity group. Whether you’re a prospective student or employee looking to see if Northeastern will be a good fit, or a current student or employee seeking out some answers about policies or procedures here, this is the place to be!
Are you an alum of Northeastern University who would like to stay connected to the LGBTQA+ community and other happenings on campus? Were you a part of an LGBTQA student group, and would like to be updated on their progress? While we are growing as a resource on campus, we would love to connect more with all of our alumni, regardless of how long ago you were a part of the University, or in what capacity.
FACULTY & STAFF AFFINITY
The Office of Institutional Diversity and Inclusion supports the LGBTQA+ Faculty & Staff Affinity Group, which hosts regular informal social gatherings and working group meetings to discuss campus issues affecting the community. The group was launched in the summer of 2016 by two administrators, Jan Rinehart and Jonna Iacono.
RAINBOW GRADUATION AT NORTHEASTERN
Rainbow Graduation, also known as Lavender Graduation, is an opportunity to honor and celebrate the achievements of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer students at the university. In 2019, the LGBTQA+ Resource Center celebrated 57 graduates.
