In Spring 2023, the Center launched the One Weekday A Month (OWAM) program in order to provide spaces for students with shared identities or experiences to come together once per month. OWAMs pair a student facilitator or facilitators with a staff co-organizer in order to share the work of creating intentional community space. The program began with five OWAMs, each of which focused on a particular shared experience or identity, and is looking to continue expanding.
Bi/Pan/Queer+ Students
The Bi/Pan/Queer+ OWAM creates space for bi, pan, queer, and omni students as well as other students on the multisexual or multiromantic spectrums and students who are exploring those identities.
LGBTQIA2S+ Disabled Students
The LGBTQIA2S+ Disabled Students OWAM creates space for disabled, chronically ill, and neurodivergent students and other students who experience marginalization around the intersection between their LGBTQIA2S+ identity and ableism.
LGBTQIA2S+ Graduate Students
The LGBTQIA2S+ Graduate Students OWAM creates space for graduate and professional students at Northeastern who are LGBTQIA2S+ or exploring their identity.
LGBTQIA2S+ International Students
The LGBTQIA2S+ International Students OWAM creates space for international students at Northeastern who are LGBTQIA2S+ or exploring their identity.
