Key Initiatives

Affirmation Access Project

The Affirmation Access Project (AAP) is an initiative of the Northeastern University LGBTQA Resource Center that provides comprehensive support to Northeastern students who need access to gender-affirming healthcare, personal care items, and community supports. The AAP is grounded in values of respect, community care, abundance, and informed consent. Any current NU student, regardless of identity, is encouraged to make use of these resources if they feel relevant and helpfulAll aspects of the AAP are completely free of charge.

Cultural Education

The Center is one of seven cultural and spiritual life centers on the Boston campus. Together with the Asian American Center; the Center for Intercultural Engagement; the Center for Spirituality, Dialogue, and Service; the John D. O’Bryant African American Institute; the Latinx Student Cultural Center; and the Social Justice Resource Center, we make up Cultural and Spiritual Life at Northeastern.

QUEST Leadership Development Program

QUEST (Queer Understandings of Equity and Social Transformation) is a leadership development program informed by histories of LGBTQIA2S+ leadership initiatives in the United States, with an appreciation for the transnational character of much of that organizing. Each Spring semester, QUEST is offered in a two-day retreat format over the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday weekend. Stand-alone modules have been offered in the past throughout the year, and the Center looks forward to creating a diversity of opportunities for students to engage in QUEST material in the 2025-2026 academic year.
